Love or Loneliness?

Why is love greater than anything else? Because love alone meets man’s deepest need, woman’s deepest need, and a child’s deepest need, and that need is to be accepted where I am, as I am.

Loneliness is a battle that takes place between two persons who live inside you within your soul. No person is so integrated that he is only one self. But deep within us, there are many conflicting persons. Life is a crew of people within us, struggling to take over the helm.

Look at these two people within you. There is one person reaching out for love, like a little child in a candy store grasping for candy. This person reaches out desperately, anxiously, almost hysterically for love and understanding. But there is another self who, like a father holding back a child’s hand in a candy store, says to your grabbing self, “Look out! Don’t grab so fast. You might get hurt. You might be rejected. You might not be accepted. You don’t want to love and be rejected, do you? Love is a risky business, you know. To love is to be vulnerable. To be vulnerable is to be accountable. To be accountable is to run the risk of being rejected. To be rejected, you run the risk of all risks, and that is that you might end up hating yourself because others don’t love you.”

And so the lonely person is the one who listens ultimately to fear instead of to faith. The lonely person is somebody who listens finally to the self that says, “Be careful. Don’t take any chances. Don’t make any commitments. Don’t get involved. You might be rejected. You might get hurt.” And if that’s the voice you listen to, you will have your freedom intact, but the price you pay for your freedom from involvement is loneliness. One reason our society is so infected with loneliness is that the spirit of selfish freedom has become so widespread. So we don’t want to lose our freedom by getting involved. We don’t want to lose our freedom by running the risks of making long-term commitments.
We have a lot of lonely people today because the price of unwillingness to make permanent commitments is to live on a level of interpersonal relationships where all relationships are temporary. When you are hurt, like infantile children who pack up their marbles, you can go your way and find yourself free again. But remember, one day you may land in a hospital for major surgery and discover that nobody knows, and nobody cares! Unless you are willing to surrender some freedom to make permanent commitments, prepare to pay the price, loneliness.

Love ends loneliness, but love has a price tag. The price tag of love is commitment to continuity. Like say in marriage, what makes it more important than a piece of paper? One thing, and that is when you say, ‘I love you and always will love you, even when your skin is wrinkled.’ That is when you are going to need it more than ever.

Enriching Sex in Marriage

Sex is of significant interest to all who are married and to those who aren’t. In counseling sessions and marriage, pre-marriage, and sexuality seminars couples often asked the question “How can we improve the sexual side of our marriage?”

Following are some principles that can add new meaning to those who want to improve this aspect of their marriage.
Marriage is a socially and divinely approved union for developing closeness with another human being. Marriage can provide an optimum setting in which to develop the blend of sensual and emotional satisfactions – a relationship in which sexuality can be fully expressed. It allows for a range of expression of love, a depth of self-awareness, and closeness that results from sharing significant experiences and feelings.

In marriage, two people have the opportunity to experience love in all dimensions. They can enjoy the pleasure of companionship; share the fulfillment of a deep and abiding friendship; and experience the pleasure of passionate sex, which is more than a combination of sexual organs – it is an extension of one’s self through self-abandon. Many couples find sexual intercourse to be a rewarding, fulfilling aspect of their marriage. It is a means of sharing, of giving and receiving pleasure, of communicating needs and desires, and having fun.

Sexual satisfaction within marriage seems to depend in part on marital happiness, and marital happiness is fostered by, but not dependent on, a mutually fulfilling sex life. Nonetheless, sexual satisfaction can be affected by many factors. Several studies have shown that expression of sexuality such as hugging, kissing, and intimate touch, as well as the frequency of sexual intercourse, decline after the first year of marriage.

Several factors may contribute to this, including the birth of a child, the perception or feeling that lovemaking has become routine, lack of interest by one or both partners, or a hectic or stressful lifestyle in which one or both partners maintain a schedule that leaves them physically and/or emotionally unavailable to the other partner.

In addition, marriage sometimes abruptly, and often radically, changes the nature of a couple’s relationship. New roles and patterns of interaction, as well as relationships, must be established. Whereas the couple’s interaction prior to marriage may have revolved around romantic interludes or exciting dating experiences, the reality of daily life and the resulting stresses often replace and are significantly different from previous methods of relating. Therefore, as marriage progresses, couples need to find more creative ways to establish sexual intimacy in order to combat the tendency of the relationship to become routine and/or boring.

Marital partners can develop support systems within the relationship that can forever foster intimacy and result in a fantastic sexual life. Enhancement of sexual feelings and behaviors, however, does not begin in the bedroom. This unique emotional bond is strengthened, first all, by developing and creating new thoughts and resulting actions to implement those thoughts that see value and worth in one’s partner.

Every day, each partner should attempt to find at least one way, either by word, a touch, or a deed, to creatively express love to the other. This can be done in a variety of ways and as simply as fluffing up the pillow on your partner’s side of the bed, bringing him or her a warm towel after a bath or shower, sending him messages of love and affection, bringing him or her breakfast in bed, or putting flower by the bedside. It involves noticing the other person and planning ways to make that person feel happy, noticed, and valued. Practices such as weekly dates can also contribute to an atmosphere of marital closeness.

More important than what happens to the person who receives the act of kindness is what happens to the person who performs the thoughtful act, because every thought or deed rendered toward one’s spouse makes that person more valuable. It deepens the closeness, tightens the emotional bond, and makes the sexual union more significant and fulfilling.

The Cheating Spouse & the Private Investigator

“For better or worse….For richer or poorer…In Sickness and is Health…Till death do us part…???” NOT ANYMORE.

These phrases were supposed to be the vow or promise that couples give to each other, but when time comes that things would change, some would tend to break it or worse, ignore it. Cheating, as most people would commonly call it, is one of the most agonizing and most upsetting thing that might happen in marriage or in any intimate relationships. Unfaithfulness or infidelity could be your worst nightmare.
Victims of this sort of demoralizing crime seem to have no assurance anymore with the relationship they have with their partners and perhaps, as an option, want to get out of their relationship. Most often than not, a suspicion most likely become a fact, and truly, it is painful and disruptive. But before deciding to put an end to a relationship, one must be certain of the suspicion that the other is really cheating. And one way of getting this is through hiring a private investigator.

A private investigator’s task is to look and follow through the usual course of action of the target, that is, what happens when the target gets out of the house and then thereafter. Private investigation companies were established to end any cloud of doubt and mistrust of an individual suffering from countless sleepless nights, loss of appetite, stress, and anxiety. These companies take the job seriously and, with deep sympathy to the cheater’s victim, obtain factual evidences to prove whether your partner is indeed a cheater or not. Many of these private investigation companies have incorporated state of the art facilities and equipment in order to get accurate evidences that a detective needs to ascertain the guilt of the culprit.

Problems of unfaithfulness require a seasoned and trained private investigator who is able to gather evidences and information of infidelities of a target. Private investigators are required to know family law to further succeed in the investigation since most of the infidelity issues are covered by the US Family Law.

Private Investigators have the capacity to observe and watch your spouse; keep an eye on who they are with, where they set off and what they do, unnoticeably and confidentially. They can do this through the use of surveillance, employment of automobile tracking devices and giving you with program software to check suspicious e-mails, internet activities, and chat room discussions. They also guarantee that whatever information you expose and elaborate to them, they are regarded with utmost confidentiality.

In any case whether you want to know facts and the truth or just continue to go on with your life, or if you need proofs to win in court that your partner is indeed a cheater, then having a private investigator is what you need. Putting an end to a relationship is hard, but continuing to suffer unfaithfulness and infidelity is way much harder. So hire your own private investigator in order to shed light to your clouds of doubt.

Keeping your Marriage Fresh

In keeping your marriage fresh it is important to understand why you entered into it in the first place. Why did you have that all-consuming, ecstatic, heart-stirring experience when you got married? Were your emotions selfish? You must ask yourself some tough questions like: what did you want out of the relationship? What did you want to give? Marriage is both give and take.

The dynamism of a marriage relationship can be maintained, not only by ensuring that the relationship has a philosophical basis, but by a theological foundation as well. Each needs to see his or her spouse as his or her alter ego, one’s better self. God has given you a human person; not merely one who performs a function of a human being. In other words, your spouse is not a cheap housekeeper. Neither is your erotic satisfaction the ultimate.

Here are some practical suggestions within the context of keeping one’s marriage vibrant.

First, couples should do things together: plan together, go shopping together, visit places together. Seek to continue a life-long courtship, or else the marriage may grow sour and ends up in court. And yet one would be naïve enough to think that the experience of marriage is a ‘sugarplum’. There might be a bit of ‘rhubarb’ at times. However, when this is the case, rhubarb can be mixed with sugar.

Second, to keep your marriage fresh, there must be a lot of energy put into the relationship. Both partners need to contribute positively. Next, plan surprises. But remember that ‘eternal surprises’ can also become stale. Be creative.

Next, for a marriage relationship not to grow stale, couples must enjoy their relationship through a celebration. They should pulsate with erotic excitement; this eroticism must be controlled by agapic love though it is by no means the same thing.

To remain new in the matrimonial relationship, you must grow together in intimacy. And yet one needs to ask: how intimate is intimate? Now, intimacy for most people has become synonymous with sex. But for modern psychiatrists and marriage counselors the word far transcends the sexual. Intimacy is not an act; it is a state of existence in which two people gradually share more and more of their innermost thoughts and experiences. This continuing growth is the key to a loving relationship. Intimacy between married couples must involve total personality contact.

Another ingredient that helps to keep a relationship alive is openness. This is the final level of communication. Couples need to talk to one another, and anything that creates roadblocks should be removed. Not only should there be talking; there ought to be listening as well. And why should not silence be part of the communication process? However, persistent silence can become noisy.

To keep one’s marriage untarnished, vibrant, and scintillating, then, there must be both a theological and a philosophical foundation; these in turn need to have practical implications.

Opposites Attract

Opposites attract. This is an old stock cliché. But guess what? It contains a lot of truth. We humans tend to see in others the desirable traits we lack in ourselves. We instinctively sense that if we can only attach ourselves to those admired by others we may develop some of the same beneficial qualities ourselves.

So opposites often marry. Cholerics select phlegmatics for their calm. Laid-back, got-it-all together personalities. Phlegmatics admire cholerics’ ability to get things done and succeed in the world. Sanguines see in melancholies the order and organization in their lives that they themselves do not possess. Melancholies are taken with spontaneity and social graces of the sanguines. How wonderful to be the life of the party!

But the attraction can turn into a distraction. After a while, the attributes one so admired in the other can grow old. That which seemed charming now gets on one’s nerves. His excessive talkativeness at social events embarrasses her. He wonders why she does not get more done in a day. The differences become irritating. But there they are STUCK TOGETHER for life! It seems more like a sentence than a celebration.

Chances: Opposites Attract\A Will And A WayNevertheless, some couples who are very different from each other have learned to adjust and achieve a happy marriage. They have learned even to appreciate their differences and to celebrate their distinctive qualities.

In some marriages, when viewing test results that revealed differentness that bordered on polarization on nearly every front some would be afraid that their partnership may self-destruct.True to this concern, soon they discover that facing the differentness and working through the issues it creates have been the most, if not always often, the significant challenge today.

People are different. That is not a surprise. One may had never met anyone who could get more done in a day with the other. What most of the women don not know is the extent of the men’s agenda and how hard it would put bounds on work. One may admire the spontaneity of the other; however, what the guy would not know is how frustrating a girl could be when she wanted to overturn his carefully laid out plans at the last minute. And so many other quite annoying differences would always bring about later on in a relationship.

OPPOSITE ATTRACTION: The Lives of Erich Maria Remarque and Paulette GoddardPartners, couples, dating partners- however you may call it, each is widely different from each other. How can these people with such extremely diverse personalities ever make a relationship flourish? A journey from acknowledging to accepting these diversities defines the close-to-perfection kind of relationship. From tolerance and respect, what else would there be if partners will try to complement each other’s differences.

The subject here is coming to appreciate the distinctive qualities of our partner. Would we really want another person to be just like us? Someone has said that if two people agree on everything, one of them is not necessary. Each brings his or her unique strengths to a relationship. The key to a happy partnership between two opposites is learning to value – perhaps even celebrate – each other’s qualities.
